Pastoral Care
MY COMMAND IS THIS: LOVE EACH OTHER AS I HAVE LOVED YOU.
John 15v.12
Jesus commanded us to “ Love each other “. At High Cross with God’s help we hope our system of Pastoral Care follows that commandment.
The pastoral care of the congregation is the responsibility of the Ministers, the Elders and the Pastoral Visitors. The six Elders serve on the Church Council and also have overall responsibility for pastoral care within a geographical based area. The folk in these areas are subdivided into smaller groups, each cared for by a Pastoral Visitor. By organising things in this way, we hope that every member of our congregation will feel welcomed and cared for and be introduced to others living in the same neighbourhood.
We always serve coffee after our 10.30am. service, we hold various social events, bible studies and our coffee bar is open all week which gives us many opportunities to get know one another and care for one another. We have opportunities to pray for one another, there is always a prayer-team available after the 10.30am service, a prayer group that meets on a Tuesday and if you speak to the office there will always be someone to pray for you.
As a loving Church Family we do care for one another in practical ways as well, we are blessed with a caring and supportive membership. Loving one another at all times. In times of difficulty and sadness and times of joy and happiness.
